Systems Optimization

In systems optimization, we deal with concepts, methods, and tools for large-scale optimization in the context of systems design and analysis. Our research focuses on randomized search algorithms, in particular biologically inspired techniques, and multiobjective optimization from three different angles:

  • theoretical foundations,
  • algorithm design and implementation, and
  • applied decision support in systems biology and engineering design.

Previously headed by external pageProf. Dr. Eckart Zitzler, the research in system optimization was continued for a time in the group of Prof. Dr. Lothar Thiele.

Further information can be found on the home page of the former systems optimization group.

That research area in now discontinued at TEC.
